1312 is a self-initiated brief which focuses on the underlying philosophies of the British Police Force. An investigation into presence, contact, intimidation, colour, sound warfare and power dynamics. This is part of a larger portfolio of work on policing that focuses on intimidation through presence.
Moving forward I intend to display the police horse in multiple areas around Glasgow; Recording responses and analysing how these responses are linked to the societal situations of these spaces. By placing the work in the public realm, I want to explore how these tactics have permeated culture, and how they are now so ingrained in the way we respond to the police.
